treasures

So I got to go shopping for a couple hours today while Joshua watched Rion. I had planned on going to a few stores and ended up spending all of my time (3 hours) at the Goodwill. Ahhh I love that store. You never know what treasures you will find. Here is the list from today's trip:
navy slacks, pretty blouse, dansko shoes, two toddler sweatshirts, two toddler t-shirts, toddler pants, two sippy cups, two novels, and 'cars' fabric to make a gift. And the grand total = $26 !!
I really took advantage of the sale they were having and feel like I got some great bargains. Gotta love thrift shopping :)

I leave you with a photo of Rion running/dancing at the park from the other day.

Oh and check out my photo posts on leatphoto.blogspot.com !!

Rion is 2

We had a great time celebrating Rion's 2nd Birthday last weekend. He is getting to be such a big boy! He amazes me everyday with his understanding, vocabulary, willingness to help, and sense of humor. We themed his party Robot style with homemade robot attire, a 'noise' wall, robot crafts, silver balloons, tents & tubes to crawl in, and of course red velvet cupcakes. "Rion, what does a robot say?" "Beep, bop, bip, bot." hehe he's so cute!

and this weekend is my golden birthday, 28 years on the 28th of August!

To commemorate my 28th year I have decided to post a photo a day on my photography blog.

I hope by commiting to this, it forces me to get out there and take LOTS of photos and in turn get some great ones out of it. I have a mission trip planned in November that will provide me some amazing and new views/perspectives to photograph, and I know that this task will also force me to have other more local adventures to photograph.

Ravelry

because I love to knit.
I now have a profile on Ravelry.com

problem is this is one more reason for the computer to distract me from my knitting.

Grammie had 5 daughters, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
She was and still is a great influence in all of our lives.
(this photo includes her sister, brother in law & brother as well as all the spouses and is missing one grandchild and all of the great grandchildren)

Grammie Toney Memorial Service Today

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Nehemiah 8:10b

the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Grammie was such a strong example of how to live filled with His joy.
I hope to empart that on my son and future generations of my family.

Just News!

So its been about a month and the family is doing good.

Joshua has been working for just over a month at Microsoft as a contractor in the Games Department. This fits him well, but it isnt all games, as this is the support area for all the developers.

Lea has been busy with the toddler as he approaches his 2nd birthday this summer. Following after his daddy who posed him for this picture.

Easter

Easter was great this year. It's soo much fun to celebrate with a little one where everything can be new and exciting. Rion loved the egg hunts and Easter baskets full of goodies... maybe next year he won't be so afraid of the Easter Bunny.

15 March 2010

first of many... hopefully

Here are a couple photos from the hike we took on Saturday.
We went out to a trail off of Paradise Lake Road.
Rion loves being 'outside'.
I hope that this will be the first of many we take as the weather gets nicer.

knitting

I am sure most who know me, know that I knit.
Here are some photos of the most recent things I have knit.

A teddy for Miss Molly
(first attempt with this pattern)

Gabe's Hat for his 2nd Birthday (modeled by a friend)

'A' initial Blanket for Anthony's 1st Birthday

Hat for Joshua
(I made a matching one for Rion but it is difficult for me to
get him to wear it long enough to get a decent photo of it.)

Hat for Mason

Booties for Mason
(I made booties for Sienna too, just white instead of red)

Teddy for Mason
(I made a teddy for Sienna too, the same yarn, just a gold bow instead of green.)

Blanket for Sienna
(this square pattern is one of my favorites,
I made a blue one for Gabe and red for Rion when they were born.)
Of course there are more hats, blankets, bears, and scarves that have been completed, but there is a sampling. Currently I am working on my first sweater (brown, for Rion) and will then start on another blanket (black, polka dot pattern) and some more hats ;)
I just love having close friends and family to knit for!

21 February 2010

Okay. It's been a while.

I have been pouring over all these wonderfully artistic blogs recently that highlight beautiful families and their adventures... and I have neglected my own! I realized that it has been about 6 months now since I posted last. That's terrible. I would love to get much better at this...
Here are some photos from the past six months to catch this poor blog up.
